Community and Elderly Services
This program utilizes Community Police Officers who have attended 80 hours of training on assisting elderly citizens with everyday needs and services. These services include, but are not limited to, picking up prescriptions, obtaining necessary grocery items, bringing a friend to sit, general transportation, and alerting the elderly of any possible scams operating in the area.
They also make general house calls to check on the well being of senior citizens who live alone or are alone during the day. During visits, officers listen to the concerns of elderly citizens and bring them back to supervisors where they are addressed. The Community Police also make themselves visible in high crime areas and also walk through many of our local businesses to assure both patrons and employees that Iberville Parish is a safe place to live, work, and do business.

Auxiliary Deputy program
The Iberville Sheriff’s Department Auxiliary Deputy Program will soon be established by Sheriff Brett Stassi. The purpose of this program is to assist the Sheriff’s Department in day-to-day and emergency law enforcement services. Members may also be called upon to assist in public awareness programs and assist deputies in the performance of their duties.
The Reserve Deputy status will be held by those members that are licensed peace officers, full or part time, in the state of Louisiana. The purpose of these members is to assist the Sheriff’s Department with day-to-day or emergency operations when called upon to do so by the Sheriff or his designate.
